About Carlson Construction Group

OUR STORY

A Legacy of Leadership in Construction Since 1971

Carlson Construction Group (Carlson) has been evolving, adapting, and growing since its founding in 1971 to meet the ever-changing needs of the construction and industrial services landscape.

Founded by Gord Carlson – who grew up in the logging town of Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island and began his career hands-on in the field as an ironworker – Carlson is built on a deep understanding of the industry from the ground up. Over the decades, the company expanded through strategic acquisitions of specialized contracting companies, including Brymark Installations Group (1983), Vancouver Pile Driving (1996), and Corwest Fabrications (2016).

Carlson has built up one of the largest marine and heavy lift fleets on the Westcoast of Canada including 30+ vessels and 20+ heavy cranes. In addition, Carlson has secured 4 industrial sites including 3 large waterfront facilities with deepsea berthing.

Allowing Carlson to grow and diversify into new market segments, the story and legacy continues to evolve – building a lasting legacy for a sustainable Canada.
