SCOPE OF WORK
- Design-build delivery model
- Demolished and removed existing ship ways and creosotetreated piles
- Installed a temporary sheet pile retaining wall to contain the caisson bed preparation (dredging and vibro-densification)
- Supplied and installed a 31.8 m × 16.0 m × 6.4 m reinforced concrete caisson using removable EPS foam forms
- Fabricated the caisson offsite in Vanpile’s graving dock, and floated it to site for install
- Backfilled caisson and poured a cast-in-place concrete slab for the pier deck

As part of the Vancouver Shipyards Modernization Project in North Vancouver, VanPile executed the design-build of a new load-out pier featuring an innovative concrete caisson system. The work included extensive demolition, marine ground preparation, and precision concrete construction – all delivered with minimal environmental impact and efficient site execution.
