SCOPE OF WORK

Installed large-diameter open-ended steel piles to support new conveyors and shiploader infrastructure:
• 1067 mm OD x 32–38 mm WT x 60–69 m
• 914 mm OD x 32 mm WT x 53 m - Executed 170 pile splices to meet design lengths and accommodate site limitations
- Overcame challenging subsurface conditions, including dense till layers at depth, without exceeding crane load restrictions
- Proposed and used an IHC S280 (280 kJ) hydraulic hammer instead of the originally specified D225 hammer (754 kJ), allowing successful installation using a 275-ton Manitowoc 999 crane
- Completed installation of both vertical and batter piles in an active industrial terminal, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations

VP Foundations was contracted to perform land-based foundation piling inside Neptune Terminals, an active coal and potash export facility undergoing upgrades to its ship loading and conveyor systems. The work required innovative solutions to address both structural demands and site constraints.
