SCOPE OF WORK
- Constructed a 100 m x 30 m x 7 m graving dock using sheet piles to fabricate floating concrete pontoons
- Supplied and installed 89 piles at 2 abutments and 5 piers to support the new structure
- Adapted to a redesigned segment layout based on geotechnical findings, reducing segment count and connections
- Coordinated with Westbank First Nation and archeological teams following artifact discovery, revising excavation approach
- Executed sustainable demolition of the old bridge: recycling steel and crushing concrete for highway base reuse

VanPile played a leading role in the marine construction for the William R. Bennett Bridge – an essential 2 km transportation link over Okanagan Lake. As both design-build partner and marine subcontractor, VanPile constructed a large on-site graving dock, managed complex piling work, and oversaw heritage-sensitive excavation and sustainable demolition of the former floating bridge.
