VanPile delivered ground improvement services for the new TFN Sewage Treatment Plant in Tsawwassen, B.C., installing nearly 800 stone columns to mitigate seismic risk. The Dry Bottom Feed method was chosen to eliminate clean-up time, allowing civil works to proceed immediately and keeping the project on a fast-track schedule.
VanPile completed a targeted remediation and habitat enhancement project within the Vancouver Fraser Port, which included dredging contaminated sediment and constructing a rock berm revetment. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within the environmental window to protect migratory fish species.
To support vessel launch operations in Burrard Inlet, VanPile partnered with Seaspan ULC on the construction of a 7,500 m2 gravel bed and marine habitat offsetting area near MacKay Creek. The work enhanced critical kelp and salmonid habitat and was delivered in accordance with Fisheries Act Authorization requirements.
To ensure safe ferry operation during low water conditions, VanPile carried out dredging of the Kootenay Lake Ferry channel's shallow sections. The project involved precision removal of material from eight areas and approved environmental disposal, supporting reliable navigation through the West Arm.
VanPile delivered a complex design-build site remediation project involving contaminated sediment removal, wharf reconstruction, and the installation of long-term environmental controls. The work was completed with minimal disruption to the client's operations, despite challenging material handling requirements.
