Owner and Director, Carlson Construction Group

Gordon is a well-rounded business owner, who established the Carlson Construction Group in 1971. After working for other companies as an ironworker and welder, Gordon become an entrepreneur in 1971. Shortly after establishing his business, he began acquiring other contracting companies in 1974 which kept him busy managing and growing them.

Gordon is a grassroots family-oriented entrepreneur who is proud to have been born and raised in Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island and successfully growing his business alongside his adult children. Gordon is the Generation 1 founder, and shareholder of Carlson Construction Group.

G.W (Gordon) Carlson, P.ENG

General Manager, Vancouver Pile Driving

G.W. Carlson’s industry experience stretches more than 20 years including work on diverse land and marine construction projects throughout North America.

As General Manager of Vancouver Pile Driving, G.W. oversees its daily operations to help ensure its strategic goals are met as a self-performing marine and deep foundation general contractor. G.W. is a Generation 2 family member and shareholder of Carlson Construction Group.

Carla (Carlson) Smith, ASCT

President, CMF Construction Ltd. and President, IHS Industrial Hazmat Services Inc.

Carla has been active in the construction industry for over 25 years and oversees a range of major infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia and the Yukon. As President of both CMF Construction and IHS Industrial Hazmat Services, she leads the planning, bidding and project management of bridges, hospitals and other heavy constructions projects as well as the implementation of safe hazmat operations within several industries. Carla is a Generation 2 family member and shareholder of Carlson Construction Group.

Greg Carlson, CPA, CA

Chief Financial Officer, Carlson Construction Group

Besides being Carlson Construction Group’s Chief Financial Officer since 2017, Greg Carlson is a Generation 2 family member and shareholder.
