North Vancouver, BC – Carlson Construction Group (Carlson) is pleased to announce that Vanessa Hobden, CPA, CGA, FCIArb, MRICS has been appointed as the Commercial Director for Carlson.  The position is effective immediately. 

Vanessa will guide and direct all of Carlson’s commercial activities including contracts and risk management across the group, which includes subsidiaries Vancouver Pile Driving, Brymark Installations Group and Corwest Fabrications.

She will be instrumental to Carlson’s growth strategy which involves the successful delivery of complex projects in the marine, heavy civil, industrial, oil & gas, hydro-electric and specialty fabrication sectors.  Vanessa brings significant international experience which will benefit Carlson and our clients across North America.”

Vanessa holds a CGA/CPA designation, is an accredited Construction Quantity Surveyor and member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Previously Vanessa has worked with both global and local companies including CH2M/Jacobs and Commonwealth Construction in executive and senior management roles in commercial and risk management, as well as finance and business development.
