To my Carlson Family,
I still can’t believe that it has been 50 years since I started this company. I smile with gratitude, humbleness, and appreciation. Since 1971, many things have changed; however, a constant has been that construction is a people business in which we build by relationship. First and foremost, our people make us successful. Without people like you, our organization would not be where it is today. So, thank you. Secondly, it is how we act and treat one another that builds on people and their relationships. Whether it’s team members, clients, partners, suppliers, or subcontractors, we need to treat each other with respect and integrity. We are builders and must understand that building strong relationships facilitate us through both good and challenged times. These are critical building blocks to propel us forward together into an enduring future.
As we enter the next 50 years, I want to make sure that the values I used to create Carlson continue. That is why I am so pleased to be part of bringing you Carlson PRIDE. With the new focus on what makes us different, both to clients and to our fellow employees, I hope you can see that these values are my values and are an extension of how the Carlson Family wants to continue to build on this organization. It is a framework for which I hope all of us can use in all our decisions here – and in doing so we strengthen the ties to one another as people and to our current and future clients.
Over the coming months, you will see how we intend to use our values and how they will become enmeshed in the company fabric.
To our continued success,
Gordon Carlson
