G3 TERMINAL VANCOUVER

The G3 Terminal increased capacity for bulk shipments overseas, accommodating larger vessels.

The G3 Terminal was designed to optimize grain receiving, storage, and shipping throughput operations on Canada’s west coast. The terminal is located on the north shore of Burrard Inlet and utilizes the existing Lynnterm West Gate marine terminal. VanPile’s work included demolition and several site improvements including buildings, overpasses and underpasses, and modification of the existing dock.
VanPile’s scope of work included:

  • Construction of a new ship’s berth, mooring structures and support structures for conveyors and shiploaders.
  • The project scope included demolition of the existing concrete dock, revetment fills and armour rock, steel pile installation and concrete pile caps, fenders, bollards and miscellaneous metals.
  • 134 piles driven at an average length of 87 m with 3 splices.
  • 120 piles at 914 mm diameter
  • 14 piles at 610 mm diameter
  • Included composite piles with thickness of 25.4 mm and 19.1 mm wall thickness
  • Starter piles were 41.1 m long.
